We have always put schools at the centre of services. Everyone remembers their school. Good or bad it is their most important "Learning Organisation" and has a profound influence on their future prosperity. Like most who work in Education we understood this long before "Every Child Matters" was published. We have now worked with over 2,500 schools across England and Wales on a one to one basis, some are government funded in challenging areas, some are private schools with a privileged intake, some are Special schools, others, including PRUs, look after the most vunerable children. In many ways the challenges are the same - well-being of individual children - but the context is very different! We were an early provider of Self Review tools and our Whole School Package remains a market leader with very complemetary remarks from schools and Ofsted alike. Our Pupil and Parent Voice surveys are amongst the most widely used and we are now able to offer benchmarking against our large database of results. We continue to encourage schools to see themselves as a complex set of people and processes which need to be well led and managed to ensure the most productive culture possible is created within the school. This should support the key activities of learning and teaching throughout the curriculum. With these and the supporting processes in place the school should achieve good standards and progress, and more importantly deliver on the "Every Child Matters" goals.
