For assistant or deputy headteachers and headteachers

New arrangements come into force on September 2007, which supplement he 2006 Performance Management Regulations.
First plans and review statements under the new regulations should be agreed by 31st October 2007 for teachers and by 31st December 2007 for heads.

This course will identify ways in which PM processes can be effectively tied together within whole school improvement planning and the development of "Learning Organisations."
What the course will cover:
  • the main responsibilities of senior leaders and governors
  • the relationship between Performance Management and CPD
  • developing the skills of reviewers
  • how to develop and monitor effective objectives
  • how classroom observation should improve learning and teaching
  • how performance review is linked to pay recommendations
  • integrating PM processes into the School Integrated Development Plan
