Whilst this recruitment service can be tailored to suit your requirements, a standard approach might be:

Pre-Interview

• A specification meeting to advise on and plan the whole selection process, including agreeing the:
• Composition of the selection panel
• Dates, timings and purposes of all stages
• Job description
• Person specification
• Salary range
• Interview activities
• Advertisement, including optional Microsite
• This phase involves one of our recruitment consultants and is arranged at a time to suit the school
• A shortlisting meeting with the agreed selection panel to determine the candidates for interview against the person specification and job description
• The recruitment consultant will have reviewed the applications prior to meeting
• Cocentra will work with your school to agree invitations for interview and visit arrangements as required

Interview

• One or two day activities which can include:
• 'goldfish bowl'
• lesson observation
• in-tray exercise
• presentation
• written exercise
• meeting staff and students
• panel interviews
• final interview
• The consultant will lead the process, collate findings and debrief the unsuccessful candidates

Post-Interview

• We provide a mentoring service in collaboration with NAHT (London)
• An experienced headteacher is available for telephone support and 3 half-day meetings within the first 2 terms
• Headteacher involvement is also available at pre-interview and interview stages

Fees

• Recruitment process from £4,500 + VAT
• NAHT Mentoring service from £1,000 + VAT
• Microsite and advert design from £1,200 + VAT

Recruitment Consultants

Steve Davies - has held senior positions in schools and local authorities including Director of Education. He has very wide experience of appointing headteachers and senior staff in schools across the country.

Andrew Best - has experience of recruiting at senior levels in schools as well as in other industries including banking, media and professional firms. He is currently a governor at two quite different schools with very different recruitment and retention issues.

Terry Rollings - has experience of headship in a number of schools and at senior schools within local authorities. He has been involved in numerous appointments of headteachers and other senior staff in many different authorities.

Headteachers - all headteachers involved will be experienced practitioners who have been accredited by Cocentra and NAHT (London).
